Kelly Lee, MBA, CFP®, CEPA®

Managing Partner- Financial Planner

When a Gainesville/Hall County non-profit board or planning committee needs help, it seems as if Kelly is one of the first people to contact. The reasons for this are myriad: First she loves to help and is eager to make things work. Most importantly, however, is that organizations know that Kelly is both capable and that, when she commits, she will do the best job possible.

That reality has made Kelly a very busy person through the years (her list of service could fill a book) but despite some packed schedules and a few late dinners, she still manages to squeeze it all in – all while balancing her life as a supportive mother and wife. It’s important for Kelly to give her time and help because that’s how she was raised, and being part of the solution is what gives her the most fulfillment.

That she can and continues to do so is down to the fact that: A) She listens to current realities and what future goals are – not everyone takes the time to really hear what’s going on. B) She has a wealth of education and real-world experience. C) She does her best to make sure that everyone gets what they need and understands why.

It also helps that she loves to organize. Her husband kids her that making lists takes her to her happy place – that and running and reading, which is where she can decompress and forget about everyone else’s needs for a bit and focus on her own. Kelly’s competed in double-digit numbers of half marathons and countless shorter races. Her home bookshelf is also massive and always overflowing. But she needs that running/reading for herself, because, when she’s on task for a board, cause, or work, she is all-in for someone else’s needs. And that dedication dovetails perfectly with a knowledge built over years of study and experience.

Kelly is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional and a Certified Exit Planning Advisor. She also holds holds her Series 7 registration with LPL Financial and her Series 66 registration with IFG Advisory, LLC as well as life, health, and variable insurance licenses. Kelly earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Georgia, where she graduated with honors. She also received a Master’s in Business Administration from Georgia State University. Before serving as a Financial Planner, Kelly was a Trust Officer with SunTrust Bank in the Corporate Trust department and worked with a variety of corporate clients on their bond issuances as well as a Financial Consultant at Wells Fargo Advisors.

Born and raised in Gainesville, Kelly’s love for community desire to give are a big reason why she has served as board chair and campaign chair for the United Way of Hall County, president of the board of Gateway Domestic Violence Center, president of Gainesville Kiawanis, board chair for SISU, and president of Gainesville ballet. Her determination and ability also earned honors, including being named Gainesville Jaycees’ Young Woman of the Year (2012) and participating in Leadership Georgia (Class of 2016).

A member of First Baptist Church of Gainesville, Kelly and her husband Morgan also spend much of their free time supporting their very busy daughters, shuttling Caroline (ballet and dance) and Isabel (soccer and cross country) around the community.
