Jess grew up in a small town in rural Alabama (Lanett) and may have stayed there were it not for the advice of a boss, who saw a spirit of adventure in her. He advised her to “think bigger.” So, Jess took that advice, moving to Atlanta. And it proved the first step in an adventure that has helped her see the entire world – well maybe not the entire world, but it’s on the list. The once small-town girl – one of 6 kids, including her twin – has visited 10 countries in the last 6 years with her partner of 10 years Ken. She loves every minute of experiencing new sites, cuisines, and cultures (Bora Bora is her favorite, so far).

 All the travel, despite disliking the actual flights, feeds Jess’s innate curiosity. She loves to learn how things work and experience new ways of thinking and doing. She also loves people and getting to know them and how they think.

Those attributes made her a perfect fit at SGL, where she works many roles to support co-workers and clients. Her positive energy and willingness to learn and adapt is always appreciated. And after working in banking for 10 years in Atlanta, and for a non-profit for one year, she joined SGL excited for her newest challenge.

Jess still finds time to get back to Lanett to see her family – where they call her aunt Essie. That said, she will always find time for travel. Her bucket list includes Australia and an African safari. She has a trip planned soon for Italy, and with Ken racking up over 4 million sky miles (he’s also lived on four continents and speaks Spanish and Portugese), they won’t be slowing down any time soon.
