Anjel Ausherman

Years ago, Anjel and her husband, Mark, fell in love with the scenery and pace of life in north Georgia. As longtime residents of central Florida, the combination of serenity and panoramic views that dominated life in this region proved a siren’s song – and they eventually heeded the call. In 2025, they swapped year-round sunshine for changing seasons and rolling hills, as they moved to Hall County. 

This was no full-on retirement, however. Always used to hard work, the couple charged north – three dogs in tow – knowing they would jump into the community in as many ways as possible. So, when SGL leadership came across a resume that included 32 years of work as a high-level assistant for a public school system, including direction of teacher certification, retention, and recruitment, they jumped at the chance to talk with Anjel. What they discovered was an attention to detail and willingness to learn that meshed perfectly with their needs.

For Anjel’s part, taking on the role of an SGL Client Service Specialist has proven exhilarating. Soaking in every aspect of financial planning and services, Anjel has approached it like any committed educator would expect – while bringing her innate planning and organizational skills to a team that appreciates every ounce of effort. The best part? She gets to do it in a place that she always dreamed of calling home and amongst people that continuously surprise and affirm her with their politeness and warmth. 

The same goes for the community that she now calls home. And when’s not at SGL, she and Mark love to explore every corner of the region. Already familiar with Helen, Blairsville, and Jasper, Anjel is systematically discovering every park and community that she and her husband can, while also visiting children and grandchildren (who live in North Carolina and Florida) when time permits. Her dogs Gracie, Berkeley, and Leia are also loving their new setting – thrilled that Anjel and Mark finally got the chance to make their north Georgia dreams come true.
