M. Shane Gaddy, CFP®, C(k)P®, CEPA®

Managing Partner – Financial Planner

For just about as long as he can remember, Shane has been a business owner. It started simply enough: A push lawnmower and some neighborhood yards. By college, however, he’d graduated to sanitation, using his own light blue truck that he modified to pick up garbage from clients located in Hall and Lumpkin counties – a business successful enough that he sold it when the time came to move onwards and upwards. By that time, Shane was also managing dozens of co-workers at a large retail store.

Whether he knew it or not, he was carving out the perfect path to be where he is today: creating a work schedule, learning the value of work, and meeting the expectations of customers and co-workers – not to mention the gratification of earning money. There were still some speed bumps to navigate. For instance, Shane started out in accounting before realizing that he needed something beyond crunching numbers. He needed more human interaction. So, after earning his accounting degree at what is now the University of North Georgia, he continued at UNG to earn a graduate degree in finance.

Shane became a financial advisor in 1998, working for a local branch of a large, national firm. He even rose to become a branch manager and team leader. But he also kept hearing that siren’s song of business ownership and once again listened when he and fellow advisors left to create their own firm in 2017.

Now, he brings that understanding and knowledge to a wide range of clients – many of whom also own businesses. And because he knows firsthand that owning a business is the biggest investment a person can make, he takes pride in helping clients get the most out of that investment – in the present and future. He holds a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, Certified 401(k) Professional, and Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor qualifications, as well as his Series 7, 9, and 10 registrations with LPL Financial and the Series 66 registration with IFG Advisory, LLC. He also has life, health, and variable insurance licenses. Shane is uniquely positioned to assist business owners. By also completing the Certified Exit Planning Advisor, in conjunction with his previous training through the Wells Fargo Business Advisory Academy Business Succession program, he has undergone a rigorous curriculum of study and lecture focusing on integrated Strategic Planning for Business Owners; Asset Protection and Family Dynamics; Intra-Family Transfers; Sales to Third Parties; ESOPs; and Best Practices – all of it geared toward helping people realize the same success he has enjoyed.

Active in the community, Shane has served on the boards of numerous non-profits (currently including the Troop 16 Boy Scouts board and IFG Advisory board) and held many leadership positions (he is currently the president of the Northeast Georgia Estate Planning Council). He lives in Gainesville with a very active family that includes his wife, Emily (a published author with multiple books), their daughter, Clare (who also runs her own business, as well as excelling in competition cheer and varsity golf), and son, Emmett (a Boy Scout, triathlete, and cross country and track runner). He is a member of Lakewood Baptist Church. And when he has spare time, Shane is either training for a triathlon (he’s completed the grueling IRONMAN) – or fishing, hunting, or golfing with friends.
